help!
i'm making a billboard sign and i need type that's huge. like 3000+ point.
illustrator and indesign both only go up to 1296 point type.
what do i do?????

Get specs from the printer.
When I designed billboards they requested them to be 1/4 size at 150 dpi. very manageable.

if i scale the whole thing down, to say 1/4 size, what about image resolution?
i.e.
if i want the final thing to be 300 dpi, do i make a file at 1200dpi that's 1/4 of the size? or 600dpi at half the size? etc- 72 or smaller even, it typically doesn't matter much because of the viewing distance.duckofrubber

billboards are hardly ever at 300dpi. i've seen some made at 150 and others at even 72 (the really huge ones).
printer specs is the first step here.
