that's funny cos my dad was a scratch golfer and cold as ice on the course, my usual attempt went kind of like this:
- swing
- slice
- "FORE"
- wince
- chuck club
- storm off;)
- smith_barry0
Well my Dad is a 14-handicapper and I don't think I'm allowed to type some of the expletives he's been known to utter while wildly swinging his driver through the air...
My attempts usually go something like this...
- swing
- snap hook
- *bollox
- *blame on hangover
- stumble around trees
- give up looking for ball
- *blame hangover again

hahaha
Actually I have been considering taking it up again, is that a hormonal thing? you get to a certain age and just naturaly gravitate toward golfing...
- smith_barry0
Well I'm only 23 so I don't know if it's a hormonal thing...
If it is, I don't know what age it kicks in... I'll just keep on playng once every two months or so and beat my Dad to drive him crazy - he hates that!
Mwah-ha-ha-ha-haaaa!

Love it, can't watch it but with a cart and a case of beer wacking the ball with a friend, nice

I hate golf.

i shoot high 70's low 80's. been playing since i was 7. no lessons. just in the last few years have i learned to be patient with the game, and not get flustered when i hit a bad shot. this has made a huge improvement in my over all scoring and that makes the game mucho fun. practicing putting will cut more strokes from your round than anything.
and lots of beers, friends, and betting helps.

ohh no no I shoot near 105. bad bad

I play... used to play more before getting married, but I still try to play once a week. I'm about an 8 handicap.
I do a lot of design work in the golf industry, and one of my clients is Mike Weir, Canadian golfer who won the Masters in 2003. Great guy.

efin nice flickster!! weir is poetry in motion! super smooth swing!
- flickster0
yeah, I've been working with him for about 4 years... I usually get out to 3 or 4 tournaments a year. Went to the Players Championship and The Memorial this year... he's struggling right now, but he'll break out of the slump soon.
- nooner0
right on. i was at the OPEN this year. crowds suck. great time though!

I was actually going to go to the British Open this year... but it fell on the same weekend as my first wedding anniversary... so I'm heading to New Orleans with the wife instead.
Maybe next year. I've never been overseas...
- JazX0
that goes to show you. never get married
- flickster0
I've learned a valuable lesson, JazX...

i play. often. i shoot high 70s. if i break 80 it's a bad day. i practice putting on goofy golf courses. where better to read lines than there? haha.
to my knowledge i'm the only person to drive the number 16 hole at marengo ridge golf course in marengo illinois. a 377 yard dog leg right hole over the water. i was lucky enough to have my grandpa and grandma (they golf regularly too) there to see it, along with the club pro and a few guys from the group behind us. they couldn't believe it.
in the past 4 years i've played in about 11 'best ball' tournaments for fun. i've won about 9 longest drive holes. haha. 3 of them i won a new driver. wtf?!? if i won the longest drive don't they know i probably have a really good driver? why would i want another?!? haha.
- jevad0
I have a 10 handicap
- chossy0
I enjoy a few holes now and again, I'm really shit at it though but when I get a good shot in it makes it better.
