Enter topic:I have a cracked LCD on my 22" apple cinema display... does anyone a cheap source for a replacement LCD panel?

i was tilting the screen towards me to look at the usb port on the back.. and i had just cleaned my glass desk top.. the screen slid face first onto my keyboard.. and now it looks like this
It happened a long time ago and at the time the replacement screen from apple was $100 more than the new lowered price of the display.

damn! i think you are pretty much fucked on that damage. why don't you just buy a non-apple display? several out there that are just as good / if not better for the price.
ps. sorry, i thought it was going to be a few bad pixels or something

double check your homeowners/renters insurance to see if your computer is covered before you buy any parts

if you rent it will probably be well worth it. if you own, then the value is probably way too small to claim

my renters insurance at the time wouldnt cover it... but, i have new insurance since then so i am about to try it with the new company. I purchased a new monitor the day this happened b/c i couldnt go without.
I was just curious b/c it has been sitting in a closet and i was hoping someone else had been anywhere near this unlucky and might have found a replacement LCD. I have seen them on eBay but they are always being sold "as-is" "not tested".

i probably will be getting a new 23" when they have their next price drop.. it would still be nice to find a cheap replacement LCD
