I don't think people care, sure they like a free concert, but do they care.
The idea was great the first time around, Live Aid had a true spirt and it peaked at the right time, everybody was buzzing about it. The kids today will probably go and seee War of the Worlds instead. Live 8 seems more like Woodstock 2 than Live Aid. But we'll see, it still early.I hope that itt will be a succes.

"its sad that such a great cause is represented by bands like maroon five."
it's sad that such a great cause is represented by Bob Geldof.

the lineup may be shit.
but that's not the point.
At least some people are doing something.
Enter Response: that's more than, probably, some people here.

it's sad that people only partake in charity and raise their awareness because something has been wrapped up as a consumer product. tomorrow, they'll all forget again

True...the playlist sucks. But if anyone at any of the concerts spreads the word about Live 8 efforts to several friends they will have done more than I have.

If drinking wine during a Will Smith gig is "doing something", then ok.
I'm not trying to be negative (well..), it's just that nobody here mentioned what actually can be done to help those poor countries except partying at a summer concert.
Like, "Tell those G8 leaders to take more care about Africa?"
Could anyone explain to me how this is helping, except "raising awareness"? Awareness of what? Having no clue?

pink floyd was fucking awesome.
so were U2 and jay-z. the who sounded like crap though.
