That's right, PC. Know any?
I'm planning to buy a laptop but have no idea which one carries a strong memory package, a superfast performance enough to handle graphics/multiple applications, long battery life, etc.
What better place to ask than here right?

I loved my sony s260, but for graphics, get a powerbook

Aren't these the only thing close to a Mac powerbook for PC?

Oh god, come on. Like the powerbooks are some incredible workhorses (not).
Good:
AlienWare (fast)
IBM (dependable, strong build)
Asus (Pretty)
Dell (reliable+support)
Toshiba (overall good)Bad:
Sony (Shit build quality)
HP (Bad components)
Compaq (see HP)
Acer (no)
Gateway (no)

Get a Powerbook! I have one and I am a designer.
I run application like Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cuto Pro, Lightwave, After Effects, and I had no problem what so ever!
And mine is PB G4 667Mhz with 512 Mb of RAM!!!

Actually, I am aiming for PC notebooks at the moment.
I have both mac and Pc as desktop computers, and at the moment i work much much faster with PC than Mac - nothing against Macs, but I guess working with a PC for over 10 years pretty much makes me spoiled, haha.
Thanx so far on your imput guys - special thanx to fate_redux.

How many typos was that in my last response?!

hey! Look kids, this is turning into another Mac/PC thread.
anyway, dont get no dell@! especiallt the inspiron 5100 .. it will overheat, there was a manufacturing prob. w the heatsink

i,ve been impressed with the newer Sony Vaios -- Sony is no longer using as many propriety crap parts, and the displays are really amazing -- alot of ban for the buck, and usually is coming in a few hundred less than the powerbook

i'm checking out the Toshiba notebooks, any model in mind?

I have been using the Toshiba Satellite for almost 2 years with no 1 problem.

I use that as my main computer with a LACIE Porshe External Harddrive and I take it where ever I go.

interesting... i have an inspiron 1100 and a week and a half ago the hard drive crapped out.
i left it on overnight, went to get back to work on a project the next morning and it was toast.
could overheating have caused this?

The Tour doesnt give it justice to the 17" wide screen and powerful syste.
I would go to the local Bestbuy and take it for a spin.

i don't get how some people leave their puter on 24/7. i only do that with my computer at work hoping it will burn up and destroy the building.
- blaw0
