lool at picture on the left, 3rd down.
nobody paints that way, it just doesn't make sense to paint the top half of the face with detail, and leave the bottom half with canvas showing? you would be mixing paint to try and match what you used on the thop half of the face!
impossible, you block in color and build detail entirely.

I definitely wouldn't use most of the techniques they've described as well as the methods they've used (only painting half the canvas, leaving space to do the dress afterwards). Especially the space left for the dress (before it's done). You can easily just cut that out in Photoshop.
