is the worst pile of shite I have ever had to deal with. how do you tell a client that their hosting facility sucks arse and convince them to spend more for quality hosting?
argh...

I have the same situation with those goddady fuckers. can u reccommend a good hosting please

Anyone know if you can get FTP access to a GoDaddy Website Builder/Intant Page account? I know how with the old 'Classic Hosting' but it looks like no FTP at all for the website builder tool stuff.
Argh, I just need to put up a splash page while we take over for the client and get some real hosting and even that is a nightmare. I can't work in these types of 'tools!'

You convince them by using their phone numbers, and have godaddy spam the hell out of their phones.
- ETM0
I can't even access code view... other than for a div/layer at a time. What a fucking nightmare.
- it's hell, dude :( Is this 'your' client—or is this your employer's client? Cuz if it were mine I'd put my fucking foot down right now dude—demand a diff hostPonyBoy
- You will WASTE HOURS dicking around w/an account like that... it's not for building on the professional level...you gotta explain that to your client if you canPonyBoy
- yeah drop that web-builder garbage_niko
- It is my client. We ARE moving hosts. But need something basic up until I can it done.ETM

Fuck that best hosting i've ever dealt with.
have an issue? call them, they stay on the phone with you until it's fixed. 24/7 support.
no bullshit tickets, no bullshit chat, they get shit done.
that's been my experience anyway, been dealing with them for years.
- this is true... demand the client upgrade to a better plan through godaddy... their products / service has improved greatly... just upgrade the hostingPonyBoy

3 STEPS TO GET YOUR CLIENT TO SWITCH HOSTS:
1. Act like you don't give a fuck.
What do you care who the host is? You don't. Use whoever you want. Your client probably thinks you want to switch to some place more expensive because you're getting something out of it. Or whatever, I dunno, smells fishy.2. Log and bill your client for every minute dealing with their shit host.
Especially when putting the site live. Something breaks? Start the meter, call up the host, and wait on hold until the host fixes it. Then bill your client.3. Keep track of performance issues, outages, other problems.
When it gets to be a lot, bring them to the client. "Hey, there's something going on here, and I think we should look at finding a new host. Here are some options that will meet our needs better. What do you think?"- Anyways, if this is in reply to my post, I DID say we are switching hosts. Just need a temporary fix to their current setup.ETM

Shit hosting.
Amazing customer service, the best I've encountered so far.

For everyone who says "get your client to change hosting etc" I DID say we were doing that very thing.
I just needed to do a temp splash page. We are taking them over and needed a temp fix while finalizing things.READ PEOPLE :)
Happy Friday!
- Also holy shit, I just filtered for a GoDaddy thread and just now realized I revived an 11 year old thread.

I had one problem with php years ago. They did try to fix it but couldn't get it to work (everything worked fine on MT).
Other than that, they've been fine. Customer support has been great, especially considering the price.

Shitty host.

- Are your clients (or your clients' clients) in the US or EU? If the latter, why use an American-hosted service?detritus
- US and they choose that shit not me :(
