3 STEPS TO GET YOUR CLIENT TO SWITCH HOSTS:

    1. Act like you don't give a fuck.
What do you care who the host is? You don't. Use whoever you want. Your client probably thinks you want to switch to some place more expensive because you're getting something out of it. Or whatever, I dunno, smells fishy.

    2. Log and bill your client for every minute dealing with their shit host.
Especially when putting the site live. Something breaks? Start the meter, call up the host, and wait on hold until the host fixes it. Then bill your client.

    3. Keep track of performance issues, outages, other problems.
When it gets to be a lot, bring them to the client. "Hey, there's something going on here, and I think we should look at finding a new host. Here are some options that will meet our needs better. What do you think?"

    • Anyways, if this is in reply to my post, I DID say we are switching hosts. Just need a temporary fix to their current setup.ETM
