how can i make images fade out the same way as the ad to the left? the way it kind of burns out?
any help appreciated!

a guess:
do a color dodge overlay of the image or however you want the final frame to look [high contrast, brightness etc]then just fade that MC in/out above the original photo during the transition...

as many timelines as pics, the first starts fading half its way; the next one starts at 0% and starts fading to 0 again half its away again into the next, etc.

ahh Witt thanks man but that doesn't explain the burn out effect i kind of understand fading things.
the effect is done using AS not 2 images which is why the effect is so good as it doesn't add weight to the file.
i've seen it done but can't remember where or when (i know there were a few example flas being handed around here a while back).
any AS explanations would be great.

You can get burnt out effects like that using the advanced colour options. tween on image one to rgb at 255 each. then from that back again on the second image.

Just put the picture in a graphic.
Choose "Color>Advanced>Settings". Leave everything in the left column to 100%. And Set everything in the right column to 255. Make a tween between this and the normal image. Voila!
