sure no problemSo by this does this mean that the original Live Aid worked or failed?
stem
(Jun 15 05, 03:01)
-------------------------giving aid was simply firefighting when equated against geopolitical instability and a global economic system design to keep these countries in a position of poverty.
so, it saved many many lives in the short term but any gains subsumed by the forces of economic control by bodies such as the G8
So why doesn't he stand as a MP, and have his 'political' credentials tested in the House of Commons?

for the sake of all that is holy get a grip everyone (except moth).
There is a desperate situation that requires attention, somebody who has some clout has decided to do something about it and gets criticised at every turn??

I think he means well, but its inevitable that people will want to bring him down, if only because hes making noise in public, regardless of what that noise is.

I care. I care so much sometimes i wonder how a punk like me can have so much love inside herself. today i wept reading the newspaper.

If Bob were an MP he'd start counting lives in millions per £m. That is what he's fighting, and why he'll never stand as an MP.

anyone remember sting? that guy caught a lot of the same flack as bob is getting now. it's only to be expected.
why politicians aren't subject to the same kind of scrutiny is beyond me.
i'm occasionally tempted to hear albarn out, but i should probably get over it. he's kind of a twat.

(Jun 15 05, 03:08)I don't reckon he could hack it.
It's so easy for celebs (let's face it - that's all they are) to have a pop at politicians, Bono's another prick, Billy Bragg tried it.
I think the outcome would be a bit like when Athur Scargill formed 'his own' party Socialist Labour!

Like I said earlier -
Just takin' a topic of the day and havin' a play with it, that's all.
Mr. A. Dick?
- lowimpakt0
stem, why not pick up on the 30,000 people dying every day from poverty bit of the story.
- MX_OnD0
Most of us can only make any sort of difference in our immediate surroundings.
The majority of us don't.
Anyone who does deserves support and encouragement.
Anyone who is in a position to make a bigger noise and does so also deserves support and encouragement.
If you disagree so be it, but to attack such an effort is as low as it gets.
- skt0
At the end of the day, regardless of the good he might do. Bono is a CUNT. Full stop.
Don't mind gandalf though
