best to you kodap. all kinds of folks come through the bakery everyday. never know who you might meet. put your cards out there. some heavy hitter might walk in to buy danish for the creative department because they're being overworked... he/she will see your card and say "screw the danish, i'm hiring this guy to join the team"
=)

Generally these sorts of jobs are quite humbling, and provide great insight into the human condition. Therfore, there's got to be a way that you can incorporate this into your work. Good luck, bro...

hang in there buddy.
i've been at the end of my rope and i stuck with it and kept my head up. you can battle back too.
i had to start selling my stuff to make rent. 3000 mountain bike for 900 on ebay. 1984 - 86 full sets of tops baseball cards on ebay. gone for less than what i could have gotten individual rookie cards for. but i was desperate for cash.
hang in there and you'll find your way.

I'm gonna try to hang the rope till next week.. if I can manage to get a new gig, I'll re-think and refuse this temporary job.
Thanks for your kindness on my issue

I'm sorry my friend. If its any consolation, i didn't even start designing until I was well over a decade older than you are now. New outlets for your creative output may open up at any time.

offer to illustrate the bakery's menu... and try to display your work on the walls.

im a little late here but..
there is no shame in working non design jobs on the side while freelancing kodap, i do it from time to time when the gigs are low and the billstack are high..
trust me when i say you should take the job, it will only motivate you even more to get the hell outta there again..
good luck pal, !

i had to become a banker for 6 months once to pay bills - designers and bankers are like oil and vinegar.
that was after being a cashier at a grocery store, which also blew.
sometimes you just have to suck it up. good luck...it's only temporary.

this isn't a good idea, but you could always move a little bit of white powder for some extra dough. [neither of those puns were intended]
