Ok so I just got my book in hand an am starting to do PR for it. I wanted to know who you wouls send copies to and what stores on and offline should I hit up about it?

Don't know about the US but you're probably better off approaching a distributor. I work for a big chain bookstore and they place a 50% markup on all independently published titles they take in. (They're greedy assholes). Most large bookstores deal with the one wholesaler.

Champion of None is doing some of the distro. It is limited to 500 copies. I NYC alone I've got at least 5 store stocking it. So I think It's sell out quick. But want to get it in a few stores in the UK and other places.

I had a print shop in Tampa do all my printing and binding and had the cover done in Seattle at a screen printer shop (they do all my prints these days). I had to print the cover on a 10pt cover, I think the paper is 100 pounds. I can't recall perfectly. But I think 100... Are you thinking of doing a book? I wanted my book printed on one side so it up'ed the cost alot. Paper is more costly then ink.

yes....what's the name of the place in tampa? That's 2 hours from me. I have a ton of spare paper....oh and you don't have to post your website....we can see that when we click your name

you should email me. Can't really go posting all my sources on NT. I do alot of work with them it also atcually says on the back inside cover. Most books do.

Don't know about who would be good to send to online, but where I live, there are great independent local bookstores and music stores that I think would carry that. Also, if you have a touristy area (like Ybor City or where ever it was my sister took me when i visited Tampa) see if any of those shops on that strip help promote local writers. If you want to try to do a "book signing", also offer to do the promo posters for their store. That's another portfolio piece to go with the book.

Mayo! Your in Tampa? My brother lives near Ybor. What do you do in tampa to make a living? The books offical release date is the 15th of Aug. I did a press run of 130. Leeking a few to stores like Reed Space here in NYCity and Subject Matter in the OC. I'm talking to Giant Robot about stocking it and doing a book signing. I'd love to goto Tampa. If you know any please names would be a great help.

nuts, i'm sorry. My sister lives in Tampa, i visit when I can. Sorry for the confusion. I can ask her to get some names for me, but i don't know how much i trust it. She's (according to her) IT for a company, but she still uses AOL at home, if that tells you about her credibility :P
But I just wanted to throw out there that music stores and the like are also places to think about.
If you still want to me ask my sister, I can see if she'll get the names of of the stores in Ybor City (i highly recommend you go at night there. they block off the strip to walking only, all the bars spill into the street and a theater where some of the new release movies are played in separate 21+ theaters so that they can serve beer. maybe that's more common in bigger cities, but i'm in Reno).

That would be cool my brother is to big of a stoner to do it.. Ynor can be fun haven't been since I was 21 and that was like 6 years ago.
