Apparently 100% debt relief "doesn't fit our budgetary process".
Twat.

do you think tony will stick to his own principles this time?

"Hey man, Bush is right, you have to spend your money wisely, cos most aid doesn't actually help these people, it actually makes things worse for em. All he wants to do, seems to me, if come up with a better plan, that is all."

They will only spend it on the drink anyway. Why should we pay for them to sit about drinking special brew and white lightning making the place look untidy.
pfffft.

well, if george hadn't spent all his money on that super-fast, shiny sportscar he's always wanted then it probably would fit the budgetary process.
* super-fast, shiny sportscar = chance to play army with real-life helicopers.

Thing is, sounds like it's really Gordon Browns principles. unforunately he ain't the main man.
Also:
'The US - along with some other countries including Japan, Germany and Italy - has never been keen on the idea of selling IMF gold.'
Those 3 countries again! Didn't they learn their lesson 50 years ago.

Doesn't matter who it is, Bush or any other leader. It's about accountability. Before you say twat, think corruption through to the power infinity. Take a visit to Africa and then come back and talk to me.
So, every country in the world forgives their debt and then what? They build it back up again? How does that work?

we forget the debt.

we don't forget our responsability for that mess.

i think tony will stick to it. he seems very passionate about it. African debt has been his persoanl project for a long time..

pledging x amount in monetary aid is like blowing someones arm off then offering them a band aid (do they know it's christmas?)..
- ********0
Jaz, mate, read blair and brown's plans, it is a thorough restructuring of the way aid is delivered to those countries. safeguards against corruption. it's not JUST wipe the debt.
