Reading "tone" from thoe posts is totally inferred. Nobody posted with "your work sucks" or "that looks shitty"... please people, stop looking for negative and personal attacks when others are offering constructive criticism. Maybe stephanie didn't hear what she wanted to, but that's going to happen for the rest of her life. Did you guys not have critiques at the colleges/workshops/meetings that you have attended?
I think some of her work was pretty nice, but that had nothing to do with her presentation of the pieces which was confusing and muddled.

like i said, i was pointing out her presentation and when i saw her mockups for her site, i said, post that when she is done than posting her work via Flickr.
i thought i was giving decent comments rather than suger coating it.

Hey Stephanie,I am a designer...I noticed your posts and your eagerness to find a job. I do not know how old you are but seeing as how your portfolio is a bit all over the place. I realize that you may not be in the industry that long. Let me offer you some advice from a fellow young designer.
There are a lot of good things to learn on this board from the older folk who I learned from.
1) Have your portfolio in one place
2) Don't skimp on presentation - "you are a designer"
3) If you are going to use a low budget or no cost host such as flickr you may be better off using typepad or a blogger.
4) Even though you are young you should take pride in your work. You should have posted a portfolio crit and say this is temporary hosting until I finish my portfolio. Could anyone give me crit on my work? I am also looking for a job if anyone knows of any f/t or internships.....This way your portfolio wouldnt come off as lazy and people would see that you are making moves in the right direction.
