so eh,
..say I had a seamless stiched jpeg, 360º photo panorama of my studio room. ...how would I take this in flash and make it behave like a QTVR
obviously, you could have the photo moving left to right on mouseover would be pretty simple
but I want it to still have that Spheric 'rolling' effect that QTVR's have
possible ??
clear as mud ?
Thanks!!

i think flashkit.com has an example that might help you...

really ?
i gave up on flashkit lately but ill have a looksy
anyone else achieved this kinda thing ?
- blackspade0
all they have is this one:
http://www.flashkit.com/movies/3…which is actually "ok" for somthin else im working on, but
its a little too basic for what Im after, I want the image to wrap perspective, ie behave like a cubic QTVR
na' mean ?

" panoramic filmstrip is moved to the right or the left behind a cut-out window...this little trick makes the panorama appear flat"
this explains what Im after
"compared to the slightly convex, ‘real’ cylindrical projection”
I want that cylindrical feel to the pan, surely flash can do this (?)
hmm, help! :(

i think that you cannot achieve that 'distorted' look if you use a regular stitched panoramic image.. you would have to fake it in photoshop by distorting it and it would look weird. or get a fisheye lens for your camera (sony has a cheap 360º fisheye lens i think).
else.. try actionscript.org:

I don't think you can do it in Flash the way QT does it.
However you can do it in JAVA / Processing if you don't want to use QT.
Check here for more on the JAVA option:

hmm thanks guys, I have a fish eye lens thats how I have created my nice panorama's
not really keen on doing it in Java
the issue is Quicktime does such a great job of 360 Panorama's but looking at QT user stats isnt so re-assuring, compared to Flash users
where could I find some official stats on PC users with the QT plugin ??

what about just bringing the QT into flash? i'm not sure. actually if you are using a qT VR it probably won't. hmm

I saw a tutorial on this in O'Reilly's 'Flash hacks' book. You slice up your photo into thin vertical strips, and script it so whatever is in front of you is scaled smaller than the pieces going to the sides.

yeah. you're right nuggler. let me try and find the page

I have the panoramas working nicely in QTVR, but I can also export them as flat hi-res .tiff's or any other format for that matter from Stitcher 4.0
