odn't understand George lucas. I just don't and it hurts because I think he' so talented.
You know, in THX1138 he paints a very grim picture of the powers the be in the future, abusing power. If you've seen the film, one of the most powerfull scenes is of 1138 being prodded by 3 lifeless drones (police) so as to contain him. The room is stark white giving you a feeling of vertigo- there is no up down left or right.
It's obvious that lucas is against what has happened to humanity or at least that's how it comes across. At this time he was a flegling student.
Throughout his StarWars films Lucas has always shown a distaste for the "empire" or the soul-less rullers who keep power through fear, war and destruction. Our good guys were always the rebels, or those who fought rellentlessly and againt odds to bring the universe back to a fair and truly free place.
Now Lucas himself is such a strange creature to me, because his franchise stands for everything empire... in fact, through merchandising and the such it has itself become a small empire, ultimately harvesting riches for a larger one in which we live.
I just don't get it. But the movies themselves I feel are great. I also find the inspiration (Joseph Campbell) quite interesting.

Personally, I enjoyed both Obi Wan and Palpatine/The Emperor's performances. As far as Christiansen and Portman are concerned, well, I don't think that I can be too mad at their acting because the way their dialogue was written was absolutely horrible. If someone give you cheese and nothing else to work with, you can't turn it into much else except for, well cheese. I felt really bad for Portman as I like(d) her acting previously. I just can't believe that she is a "bad" actress now.

i saw part 3 last night, and i felt nothing when i left the theater, no emotions at all...
i could have waited til it hit video. maybe it would have4 been stronger.
how did padme go from telling anekin she was prego and then 1 night passes and she is showing like 8 months...blah!!!! crap!!
nice opening eye candy and nice cityscapes.
i wanted to see the birthing of a wookie rather than seeing a larger size ewoks all grown up.
i loved how padme named her kids so freaking fast with like no thought about where the names came from.
i was dissapointed that Tatooine has the same birthing strategies as humans do, i wish it was done better without her screaming out, like maybe the metaclorians would have sedated her enough as the force could have easily just squeezed them out.

the dragon looking dinosaur that ob1 rode reminded me of Skeletor's purple Battle Cat and it made sounds like the dino that killed 'Newman" in jurassic park...not original enough!!!

The effects on that rise were so real combined wth sound/video that I remember it felt like a hallucination.
I wonder if they have any new stuff like EO... with the advances in technology it would be insane. I wish the made a version that was interactive like a video game.
