Iv prety much just landed a new job as as graphic designer, but i worked there for 1 day and the equipment was terrible, was using a old mac which was so slow and slowed me down and crashed all the time and out dated versions of illustrator and photoshop etc. iv got a meetin with the md this week. should i say something about the equipment? or not. cheers

idealy they need a new mac and cs suite and mx suite, i was using illustrator 10 on a shite mac made the job 2wice as hard and productivity slower, when i could of done the job in half the time on up2date equipment and programs.

i would ask for some hardware upgrades but hold back on the software till later. phtoshop has been pratically the same since 5.5.

def request equiptment upgrade for starters. They should admire the fact that you are pointing it out, bot look down on you for it.
If they tell you that money is an issue, look into a mini... if not then check out the imac or dual g5. Thats assuming the company insists on sticking with Apple product.

£400 can get you a decent pc (minus monitor) tell them you will get this back in a week with your increased productivity.

yeah true , id be willing 2 bring my own monitor and work of my laptop pc pluged into that, but obviously iv got my own software if u no wot i mean, so that cud cause some problems .
