Scam or not?

in the comments section he has ask me first before buying I would ask the seller.
- index0000
I did earlier today and they responded saying it was genuine, I asked why the low price but no further feedback.
What's the score with Amazon protecting purchases like this, seems to good to be true (so therefore probably is...)?

amazon secure your order upto £2000
if you dont get it, they give you your cash back

you are right, it was. and i'm a prick. but what can i say apart from the usual cliche "it's a dog eat dog world", and i've been looking for an SLR within my budget for months

This was advertised at £240 earlier today, so I mailed the seller, they responded then the item disappeared but was treplaced bu a completely new seller with no previous sales or feedback selling one for £450 around midday.
I just checked back after lunch and the £450 one had been removed to be replace by the original seller selling at £230.
Genuine or not? The price just seems too low for a D70...

ask Kuz he's getting one in the mail.

All cool Kuz, if I'd been 100% confident I would've bought it there and then I just wasn't sure how much protection Amazon offered.
I'm going to keep an eye on the D70's at Amzon, let me know how you get on with this seller if you could?

No problem index
sorry man, it was kinda out of line of me. But i have bought from zshops before, and i know that Amazon personally cover you if someone else fails to deliver the item. So what the heck?
- index0000
Seriously, no problem.
FYI the seller I corresponded with earlier today was nlnsllr@yahoo.co.uk and the one you're buying off is asteaersvf@yahoo.c.uk do they sound legit?
Suppose if Amazon protects the purchas then no drama if the camera doesn't turn up...
Like I said, let me know how you get on.
Ta!

Kuz, I just read this on Amazon:
I have used this canon for about 4 weeks and am very happy with it. However, I would like to alert potential buyers that the 'new' sellers proporting to sell cheap D20s on marketplace are actually set to rip you off. It works like this, click on the 'buy this' link and you will get an e-mail from amazon saying that the transaction could not be completed. Then, if you contact the seller (as the sellers suggest) they will always tell you the same thing: They say " I have a contract with Amazon, but the payment system is not working at the moment. If you wnat this camera, e-mail me with your contact details and I will contact Amazon. Amazon will send you an invoice. However, you then pay me directly by Western Union." What then happens is that you get a fake e-mail proporting to be from Amazon. You pay the seller directly...and......no camera will arrive. And, you are not covered by Amazon's gaurantee, because you paid the seller directly. Its a scam, its all over Amazon, and they do not have the warnings posted up front.

shit. hopefully kuz hasn't sent them anything.

As long as he doesn't make any payments other than through Amazon Payments he should be okay:
Buyer tip: use only Amazon Payments for Marketplace transactions
* Amazon Payments is safe, secure and guaranteed and provides buyers with a convenient method of payment. Amazon Payments is the only authorised and recognised form of payment for Marketplace purchases. Marketplace sellers may use only Amazon Payments to complete transactions.
* Regardless of circumstances, never pay for a Marketplace item using an alternative form of payment such as credit card, postal order, cheque, cash etc.
* Marketplace transactions paid for using alternative forms of payment are not eligible for protection under the Amazon.co.uk A-to-z Safe Buying Guarantee.
Kuz, the same seller you're buying from is advertising Canon 20D's for £530, definitely seems dodgy, hope you're not getting ripped off!
