Can anyone suggest a good book for learning CSS layout? I already have experience building HTML/CFM sites.

I bought a moody copy of "the zen of CSS design" on ebay for £1.49. It was a PDF and took me fucking hours to print out, but hey - it was the same cost as 8 Ace, so I cannae complain...
Good book too.

Just poke around the different layouts at
www.csszengarden.com until you're a genius.

I also have the zen garden book. It's bee great, just got it last Friday. It's nice because it's color, and graphically inspiring. Not overly technical, but if you like stuff that gets you thinking, it's your book.

And you can learn alot by taking other things apart. Granted, I've been thinking and reading about CSS layout for more than 6 months now on the web, finding good resources, etc. and only this week have started actually doing it.
Trial and error, over and over, and if you get a template, take it apart, mess it up, learn what works and what doesn't. Change things just to see what they do. Combine things together to make a new page on your own and when you've got what you want rewrite all of it so you get used to how to do it.

FYI - don't look at my site to see if i actually learned anything. a spanking new version of my site is gonna be up soon.
but trust me, these guys are great. they explain the logic behind naming conventions which i find to be one of the most important aspects of CSS.
rock!

I wanted to buy that one but Borders didn't have it.
I had a stack of 8 CSS books on a window ledge and was 20 feet away looking for more. A girl that worked there was coming to put them up and I quickly shouted "No, can those there?" and she seriously raised her hands in the air and made a face.
