here in germany there are 4 music channels.
these days all the commercials consists of ringtones, mobile games and wallpapers only.
new trend: applications. like navigation, discolights etc.
each commercial block is at least 5 minutes long, in that block will every single commercial be shown at least three times. even for ringtones of songs you never heard of or just came out.
now i assume it's a generation gap but i seriously would see a total annihilation of jamba, bob mobile and other over the top annoying companies who lead so many teenagers to bankruptcy with their small print.
on top of that i can imagine that other companies won't show their ads on those channels because it'll be always flanked by those annoying mobile ringtone crap commercials that it will have zero or even maybe negative effect.
another note, the sound volume during the commercials, on the entire german tv is upped by a couple of decibels to an even more annoying level (forget falling asleep on the couch).
