hey ....
try just the dot and then myobie...
and then for a short logo...
the dot and just the m.... you could even put a circle around the dot and the m.... make it a negative...
- myobie0
actually, i think i am gonna get rid of the dot all together...i just did it to make myself space it out more...
i like my old logo, but i do think that the all caps serif is not where i need to be going...
the avant garde one is the one i like the most, the top black one...
i reposted it without the dot:
i actually like this better than my current logo, but is it good how it is now?
thanx

omg..
So this is what an information architect looks like .......
wow, impressed

I don't understand the logo mark...
I can see an A, a B, an H, an E, a 3, an I, a T ... but I never see an M... what is the mark about?
If you're going to keep it- analyze the angles you are using on those shapes. The horizontal lines don't match up.
I like it a lot more with the lowercase sans, though.

The logo reads 'ill' as in NOT WELL, as in disease, as in Teh lurgy!
there is NO WAY you should use that mark. Dump it. I don't get why it's there at all anyway.
- myobie0
3rr0r404, what don't you like? i mean really, you just gonna insult it and leave it at that...that's sad...
i have posted two new bus cards...
with blue line on side:without blue line on side:
i do think it strange that some find the mark strong, some find it 'ill' (i see what your saying tho)...i will have to consider the negatives, but the positives of the mark are making me keep it for now...
let me know what you think...
thanx for the crit so far, i am seeing some things that need to change definitely...
- vb_0
ill means sick.. in a good way in all that gangsta slang..
and shit..
- myobie0
haha
sorry, im mighty white today...
it actually does look like it spells ill tho, like i l l...i never saw it before...
the card look good?
can't put an address cause im moving, then again in 9 months...that's is the biggest problem im having...
- tank0
hey myobie.look good now..but maybe 'customize' the avant garde a bit..so the type becomes more than it now is....
now its just the regular type,no?
- instantok0
the mark should either reference your name or your profession...i think the problem is that it is irrelevant at this point...if you give it some meaning it will work better for you...what is it anyway?
- foreign0
the last sans typeface is definitely better, or iow i like it better.
i also think you should rethink the "ill" though.
- myobie0
sorry, thought i explained it somewhere...
it's a : / /
colon slash slash
like http://myobie.com
i thought it might convey information technology...and it is skewed awfully much, which is all swooshy! and stuff...
every ip transaction takes place over some protocol, http://, ftp://, etc...all have ://
- myobie0
crap my :// got taken by the myobie.com thing...
i meant http :// myobie.com
- version30
if that were true myobie, there would be a larger space up top than the bottom. what you made looks like this
:||
- foreign0
all i saw was "ill".
if you're going to use that idea i'd say make it clearer so there's no confusion as to what it is, or make it completely abstract.
- myobie0
i can see what you are saying, but it actually is a :// in helvetica that was italicized, stretched, skewed, etc...
i started with a real ://...
i do gotta change the logo type some, i am unhappy with some of the M and the I...possbily the B...iono...i will tweak it some...
but the mark, i like it, i have had good comments on it for about a year now...so i don't know if i will change it as easy as i would the type...
i mean tho really, look at the cingular guy, or some other logo, not everyone sees the implied meaning, but they do see that it is tied to the company...
i need something consistent, and the mark has been plastered on all my invoices and crap for a couple years now (tweaked only some to skew a bit more)...
- myobie0
if i abstract it more, i think it may still look a bit like ill...
i will work with it...
i would rather abstract it more than to go to a normal ://
- Solid0
Try sliding the "i" up so that the top aligns with the "//" ...
