I need to get with a studio that pushes me, right now especially at this current contract, I have full creative control and no one questioning my motives. Feeling kinda stale IMO.

not too satisfied with currently for a lot of reasons.
i really don't understand why my clients like the stuff. it can be sooo much better.

i tell myself, it's not your fault. i go to bed thinking i'll do better next time. i wake up and compare my work and myself to those around me. realizing i've set the bar too low, i find i'm only in competition with myself - winning small battles, but losing the war.

Like Mimio said, I probably only like about 25% of what I do. Then again, I think I need to get back to doing what I like to do (at least some personal projects) and not just the stuff I do for my clients

its my life.
its all i care about.
its all i think about.

I'm mainly doing personal projects right now, which is probably why I'm satisfied with everything for the most part.

i've been doing interactive for about 5 years now and most of it is boring corporate caca. a drop shadow here a pixel arrow there, a some rounded corners, a logo in the top left hand corner, a big gradient so the CD will approve my work. done.
i can say it's not as interactive as a print piece nor is it as satisfactory.
in interactive, once you learn a few tricks the clients & other creatives fall all over themselves - and it's really no big deal and def. way easier than a 8-color print job with 2 metallic inks. now talk about holding your breath and seeing what happens...

I told a guy to more or less get to fuck on a job he wanted me to use some shitey freeware font on (it's more complicated than that, but you know what I mean). Told him I wasn't prepared to have it go out in my name.
It's just a shity homer, but I strangely now feel really good about making a stand and really childish all at the same time. I hope it doesn't bite me on the erse later :/

my work stinks. I think I can only continue faking it for a little while longer, I am sure they will find out soon.

thanks-- keep em coming.
Like food, I usually realize my own work is shit about 12 hours after I finish it--except or the stuff that's obviously shit immediately

I want to be a rock star but I'm feeling more like a folk singer.

i find i'm more concerned with my current mood, than the work i'm producing. maybe they're tied together, but the focus is all wrong.

haha kid, so true

Some times I wish I could pull an Alan Smithee when a client (or even CD) brutalizes my designs. That way I could seperate myself from it.

How do I feel about it?
I get paid a good bit of money to tell two other programmers what to do and how I want it done.
That's how I feel.

"A design philosophy is merely an idle vision until someone creates artifacts that make it a real force in the world."
I need to read less, and produce more work.
