Hello all, I'm a freelance flash contractor in san francisco and quite possibly making a move to LA in the near future. My current flash programming rate is about $55/hour and I wanted to know what the normal competitive rate is down in the LA area? I'd appreciate any feedback. thanks

i think you should take a raise in LA. charge $65/hr.

What is the average for SF? I was just contacted to do some work out there and $55 seems low. they are flying me out there, but i'm not sure how long the contract is.

don't know ask nick or version3

If your doing both design and development I would say at least $65 and if it heavy actionscripting even more than that. I know one guy who made $90/hr but he had worked at macromedia so his skills were pretty high.

it's a smaller design firm. but they have several large size clients

I guess it depends but it seems there a lot of need for flash peeps right now so aim high. It's expensive to live around here.

just fyi for being in LA:
you're not missing anything right now in mpls. it's been raining since last thursday :(

design 55-65, but if you're seriously heavy on actionscripting, at least 75.
what kld said two posts ago.
