As designers what is the best mouse that you have found for accuracy. I have had alot of mice that crawl, the trackwheel will scroll by itself, and they sometimes don't do diagonals very good.

I use a standard USB 3-button optical mouse - works good for me.

I always think about buying that Studio mouse, the one that is all clear and has a touch scroll thing...
But I just use a bluetooth apple mouse...the bar of soap looking one...
Never causes me a problem...

Go with a Wacom tablet for design by all means. Even if your just doing photowork and less illustration, the pressure sensitivity comes in very handy. If you must use a mouse, any optical should be fine. You can't go wrong with something from microsoft.
The one-button Apple mouse should be avoided... why they choose to limit functionality to one button is one of those unexplainable quirks in life. I'm guessing it has something to do with the original design they stole from Xerox which was two buttons. Maybe they originaly switched to one button to justify improving on the design rather than stealing it?

yeah, don't buy that one button thing...i just got it with my pb when i bought it...
i have a tablet as well, should have mentioned it...
wacom's are incredibly useful, and easier on the wrists over time...

kensington 5 button + scroll wheel, my productivity went through the roof. Love the wheel for browsing for files and surfing interwebs.

When I got the Kensigton double handed optical mouse, a day later I was offered a promotion at work (from production to creative director), a woman that I never met before approached me on the street and gave me a dozen roses, and I won a brand new Hundai Excel with all options from a 1 liter Pepsi soda cap. I figured that I must have stumbeled upon a lucky mouse considering all of these great things that started happening. But then suddenly that woman with the roses started following me around, stalking me. I was getting lots of hangups when picking up my phone. I caught her watching me from outside my window on seven different occasions. Then I found a note from her under my pillow (I'm afraid to think how she got inside). It said that she was my wife from another lifetime and that destiny told her to hunt me down and destroy me.
I also found out that the company I worked for closed shop without telling me. To make matters worse, when signing on my promotion I had failed to read the fine print on the document which apparently held me responcible for the company's ensuing bankruptcy. So far the bank has taken my Hundai away and is finalizing plans to take my apartment and freeze my bank account and credit cards.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I'm willing to give you my mouse. It's a great piece of technology... it really is lovely. They only made a limited batch and you can't buy them anymore, not even on Ebay. The two handed control is an innovation unmatched by anything else. I'll even ship it to you for free overnight.
Please take my mouse? Ok?

Apple's excuse that most users can't handle learning how to use more than one button is clearly an excuse or it's an insult to people. Would you take the brake pedal off a car so it's less complicated to drive?
