as alluded to in the nt pics thread, i am in california right now.
on vacation! it is great, i haven't had more than a long weekend for a while. today while my friends were at work i gardened in their garden and made a little 'breakfast nook' of sorts outside. it was nice, and now i smell like curry.
i am busy most of the time i am here [and the friends i'm staying with are older married friends, not the out at night type].
but, next tuesday / wednesday i might be free during the day. anyone from pasadena area want to get lunch or something? [shellie?]

Unfortunately I am only available after working hours. I have a contract that keeps me in an office in west LA from 9am - 5pm.
I do work at night as well, but I often shuffle things around so I can still have a life. har har.
Pasadena is too far for a lunch drive. I wont be able to make it there, have lunch and get back to work in time. However, if you can make it out to the beach leisurely, we can meet for lunch on this side of town.

I did that 13 months ago and drove back 30 days later with a car full of my life.
Holy schnikeez...TODAY is the one-year anniversary of my California residence.

from where you are, you take the 110 freeway west (the 110 starts in pasadena) and it will take you by downtown LA. You then get on the 10 freeway west and take it all the way to the sand.
If you want to come here, I can give you good directions to exactly where wew'd be going to lunch... or to my office and i can drive us around.
if you can make it out after work hours... i can come to you. it's easier on you that way because I know my way around.
but santa monica is not far from LAX where you flew in. It's about 15 minutes away. I can get to LAX from my apt in about 10-15 minutes on surface streets. My office is about 10 minutes away from my house. but, no difference in travel time from where you're coming from.

If you have some free time, head on over to the Huntington Gardens for a few hours. It's in Pasadena and has beautiful gardens, rare historical hand-written books, and a decent art collection. Don't miss it!
Also go to the Norton Simon Museum.

heh..... the nicest beach in brooklyn is manhattan beach.... small and always hot girls..... and at night theres a place behind the houses near it that you can hang out..... its the type of place that the entire back of the houses has ceiling to floor windows with no blinds.......

Hey, I'll volunteer if you have some ideas of what you might want to do in mind.
I love Pasadena. I might also recommend going to Hollywood to check out "The Bourgeois Pig." Totally awesome hang out.
Oh, and if you want, we can walk about the Art Center College of Design's student galleries. There are two campuses. I prefer the hill, mostly because of the view. :^)
So, what I would need to know is what kind of activities are cool to you...
