from where you are, you take the 110 freeway west (the 110 starts in pasadena) and it will take you by downtown LA. You then get on the 10 freeway west and take it all the way to the sand.
If you want to come here, I can give you good directions to exactly where wew'd be going to lunch... or to my office and i can drive us around.
if you can make it out after work hours... i can come to you. it's easier on you that way because I know my way around.
but santa monica is not far from LAX where you flew in. It's about 15 minutes away. I can get to LAX from my apt in about 10-15 minutes on surface streets. My office is about 10 minutes away from my house. but, no difference in travel time from where you're coming from.
