for a solid long-term investment I would look at mutual funds
I recommend TOCQX

Volcom is solid.
Anyone that says different knows nothing of the action sports industry ( snow/skate etc).
Some friends of mine are designing a store front in Maya for them as we speak.
The next couple years will be monumental for them.buy some stock, I am.

volcolm are going the way of hurley - $250 jeans worn by frat hats and sorority bitches
fuck that

yeah, but hurlely got bought out by nike to make it that far. volcom is legit.

bottom line - you cannot be 'legit' if you float - because you then have shareholders to answer to and the bottom line is making profit for those shareholders. Independence, by definition, is lost.

true enough in that respect jevad. i thought the same thing when i first read the article. for a company whose motto is "never established" and the like, you can't get much more established than going public. but on the other hand, volcom did it DIY from day one and stayed true to themselves and their core culture. it will be very interesting how this whole thing develops and how far they'll go before they plateau.

Wow, awesome little chat were having about this. Jevad: you seem a little bitter towards volcom, what's up?
putting them in the same cat as POLO? C'mon, a bit harsh.
if anyone has any doubt on this brand, just reference bong., hurley, quik and vans. action sports isnt going anywhere!!! Billion dollar industry. get with it. buy this shizzy!

just sad to see one of my favourite brands end up like Hurley and seeing these "frat hats" and "sorority bitches" wearing a brand they know nothing about. fuckin posers

oh how i do love statements such as "anyone that says different know nothing". it's so constructive, so richly argumented.
