Anybody got an info on when Macrobe will release the next version of Flash? I've seen the videos online and read stuff about the cool new features, but when can we expect it?

now that Adobe has its hands on Flash, I hope we can expect a solid program in the near future, since Flash, in its current state, is not solid to say the least.

Nobody knows.
Anyone with a sense of when the actual programming of the next version may be finished doesn't know what the company save the marketing directives will be once the software is ready. And anyone who does know is no doubt under a non-disclosure agreement. Add to that the fact that Macromedia is now owned by Adobe... So it's really up to them to decide when a new product rolls out.

Just to clear things up, Adobe owns no part of MM and will not for quite a while. All that has happened is that Adobe put up a figure and MM accepted it as worthy. Microsoft could come up tomorrow and offer more and MM might take it, you just dont know.
As far as products being available no one really knows, I heard somewhere they are shooting for this summer but I doubt it, they usually have a beta player out for a few months before a real release.

Yeah I heard upwards of 18 months at least the Macromedia name will still be used for their own products.

Last I heard 8ball was supposed to be released before 2006. I don't remember where I heard that from. I may have just made it up in my head and now I believe it.
I doubt Adobe will delay that product when its so close to completion.

I don't have any concrete info but I recall some Macromedia speakers saying at a conference that it will be the last quarter of this year - but this was before "the alliance of the forces".
- abstrakt0
yeah, i remember something being said about this year too.
