Its my new site, hvow do you like it?
Tell me... is the buttons + text in the portfolio part too tricky?
Oh, I need to do some preload work and a flash detector.

Don't really know what you mean by the text + button being tricky.
The color scheme (green on black) is sort of interesting, but it overwhelms some of the work. This is your portfolio! It's supposed to highlight the work and draw attention to each piece, not distract. I've always believed that a portfolio should either be as simple and unobtrusive as possible, or jaw-droppingly cool, but not something in between.
Also, check your scripting on the rollovers for each piece. Sometimes, when I roll off, the green/yellow/red info doesn't disappear.

It's incredibly ugly. The portfolio does nothing to enhance the work. It actually hurts it.

thanx fate!
no dippy. The "Don't really know what you mean by the text + button being tricky" part is the info in the portfolio...

i'm not sold on the aesthetic either but am not gonna worry about it now...
just wanted to comment that the "selected" object in the work list should not take the appearance of a "blank" object.

oh, okay, I get it.
No, it's not too tricky. But the scripting is still off. Basically, if you roll over and roll out really quickly, the buttons fade in, but don't fade out.

dippy, I know what you mean... I will check that out....

green & black doens't work for me.
- fate_redux0
rob, I'm not trying to be an asshole, but you are just working against yourself. You obviously have the talent to make something look and function well.
- armed_rob0
Fate... I know... And the reson I post is to get other peoples opinion – no bullshit about how cool it is...
So Im happy about your comments.

the link doesnt work?

Show images of work right away. Maybe a cycle of images that represent pieces of your portfolio could run in the background.

godd to see armed rob back.
good work, I'd try inverting the colors.

yo man. good start but it needs a bit of fine tuning.
i've never been a fan of showcasing work in a browser window like that.
look at how this girl showcases her web work. so damn nice. large, clean and crisp.
http://www.peex.net/nina/also i think your color scheme needs a bit more. it's a nice simple start but i'm not sold on it. you're at the middle ground between the good simple and the bad simple, you need to push it just a bit more to get you to the good simple side ya know. maybe it's the font/text you choose.
i mean if you want to get super simple and just showcase your portfolio look at how this mofo did it. his small amount of text works on this page ya know.
http://ian.chemset.net/keep trying! i went through 9 revisions before i settled on my site (not saying its the best thing in the world, but in comparission to my first few designs it's much better).
cheers.
