ok so I am doing a banner to be printed. now it has a raster image that needs to be put on it. The layout of the project is in illustrator. I was told to convert the raster image to an eps file, and place it in the ill. documaent. However when I do that, the eps file puts a white background to the image.
Is there a way to get around this? my BG that the image needs to go on is not white, so I'm in dilemma. lil help?
thnx in advance!

You need to make a clipping path in the EPS file.
--Open the eps in photoshop. Using the selection tool select all the area that you want to be transparent. Now go to selection and invert selection. Then got to the path palette. In the palette menu select make work path. Now make that the clipping path. If this is confusing I would suggest looking up clipping paths on the internet.

Is there a path around the raster image? If so, make sure its a clipping path in photoshop.
or maybe you need to optimize your display in illustrator. i think its an option under "view". sorry, i'm on a laptop that don't gots cs on it. it might fix the problem.
have you tried printing it to see if its a display issue?
