OK... I am on a PC and I am lookin g to pimp out my home studio, so I am looking for a dual screen setup.
Since space is limited I would prefer flat panels. Budget is also limited so I would like to keep each monitor under $500.
Thanks NT

i will add to this thread.. i know of a kick ass duel display we just got here at work, but its 2k. But.. i do have a question... Are there any flat panel monitors good for design. Last time i had a flat panel for design, all my colors were fucked.

Yeah that was the problem I've had in the past, granted it was a factory Dell monitor, but it just couldn't come close on the colours of a regular CRT.
But I gotta beleive something is out there that is close?
I've used the new Sony xBrite and it seems nice.. but about $800 a piece... http://displaysbysony.com/displa…

i was thinking about getting these, http://www.apple.com/displays/. Its pc compatiable, and dont mind spending the money on something thats going to work. I dont however want to risk spending $1000 dollars only to find out its the same as the other LCD's.. anyone try these?

I'm in the same boat and have been quite surprised at the good reviews Dell LCDs have had - they're even dropping the prices on their 20" models worldwide.
Or Sony... but they're a bit more expensive, and I 'm not sure I can be bothered with ANOTHER fucked pixel (sodding PSP)

Dude, like...
Colorwise, Lacies 321 is probably the closest thing you can get to CRT like quality without paying what...5 grand or so for Eizos Coloredge monitors.

I looked at the LaCie LCD... but wasn't super impressed. I ended up just getting the LaCie Electron Blue 19'' CRT, less desk space, but MUCHO better quality... and for the price ($500 cdn) I thought it was a good deal.
Two of those could work...
My father has the 30" apple flat and THAT is kick ass. the 23" works for a PC but you gain 13 inches of space with 2-19" monitors... it's a toss up, depends what you like.Sounds like an advert... gain 13 inches now!

i just grabbed one of these yesterday:
dell just dropped their prices on tons of monitors, including the 24" in picked up. a little over a grand with tax, so it's in your price range. the color is surprisingly consistant too. I was used to working on a 19' lacie and this is pretty close (for an LCD). just a little gamma adjustment and it seems to work nicely. no dead pixels either.

After reviewing many the Apple cinemas were my favorite - i have had the acrylic version at work for 2 years and love it, just bought a new aluminum for home, worth it
i nolonger get headaches from long stints working - thats worth the $ right there

Dell had a promotion last month on their 19in flat screens for $325. I think they are usually around $525.
Anyways, I picked up two. The color on them is excellent, and I saved about $1000 compared to the 23in Cinema display I was looking at from Apple.
