+1 for us

WebTV.
Dangerous because of the half-assed attempt to usher millions onto the web and give them a browser that couldent conform to WWC (at 640x480).
Second would be the early AOL browser, then Netscape after AOL bought them, then IE.
- SteveJobs0
the problem with ie on mac is that it was never finished. and never will be as support was dropped like a year or two ago...
not sure what you expect...
- randoman0
Yeah, IE on Mac is much dif then IE on PC just as iTunes is better on a Mac than PC.
Even before FireFox, Mac users should have been using either Mozilla or Safari... I never saw the need for IE on Mac.
- gruntt0
i once made a browser out of lincoln logs.
- QuincyArcher0
i know a dude who will use the microsoft product, if it's available. here's a converstation we had once when i caught him using IE on his mac;
me; why don't you use Safari? it has better features...
him; Safari sucks! it's not IE!
me; isn't that a little like saying 'this sandwich is stupid! it's not an enourmous turd!'?
- anzelina0
hahaha quincy.
turd
- SteveJobs0
then why is he using a mac?
plus the ie browser is ugly on mac - so it defeats the purpose of... oh never mind, i'm not touching that one with a ten foot iPole.

HA!

Its the art of advertising and heavy programming.
- QuincyArcher0
i've notice that on commercials, if they show someone browsing a website, they're almost always using IE on a mac.
*bows
i like the word "turd", too.

(Apr 18 05, 12:08)as far as mac browsers go, IE is the only one we could get legal permission to reproduce in an ad.. that might have something to do with it.

there were some commercials from lethbridge (the city i went to college in) and they would show an imac with windows xp on it! they just imposed xp onto the imac, it was so brutal

- acescence0
it's always ok to get up in arms about ms products!

You have to admit, Microsoft know what to do when it comes to advertising / programming the general public. Most people do feel that IE is the only way to go...
The only other real influence is the open source community and their following ("powerusers", others who follow "IT" trends")... these people are swayed by anything done to outdo Microsoft (ie. Opera, Mozilla, FireFox). These softwares also preform better due to the lack of attacks (since the community seems to support them).
IE's biggest problems are security flaws which are exploited because they are both the most popular browser, woned by the most disliked company.
- version30
Microsoft has contracts with more schools and businesses than apple
a quick check of a political site I mad eshows a whopping 83% IE, 11% Netscape 6% other
Simply fucking amazing
I blame Boeing

very true, but the security flaws in IE are also exploited because there are so damn many of them, which microsoft usually doesn't fix in a timely matter.simply put, it's a bad product. even if it were as popular as it is, it would still be a bad product.
- QuincyArcher0
whoops, i meant to say "if it wasn't as popular..."
you get the idea...
