500 pounds and a groupie each.
... depends what they want for a site really.

I think they are after a little flash and 10 possibly 15 pages in total
Thanks skt
Is there anyone else that could help

instead of trying to figure out what you want to charge just ask them what they have. saves you a lot of time and energy because most of the time they don't have that much. just ask 'em and than you can decide if you like to do it or not. seriously.

£1000? Although it depends on a lot of things. Are they signed, can they afford it. How long will it take you. How many design revisions are you willing to do. Do you like them. I'm shite at charging for small sites and fairly consistently rip myself off.

I was thinking that because there not a company but I have been asked for a qoute. Just wanted to pick the nt brains on the matter
Thanks rabattski

no no no. don't give them a quote. it seriously is a waste of time and energy. i've been there too often. when i got the feeling they have a restricted budget i just ask 'em right away what they are willing to spend. if it's too low i'd say no or else i'd do it.

Im currently doing one but when I spoke to them they didn't have a penny but since then they have money battle of the band which im sure they won £5000.

this is one of the rare occassions in life where you should really listen to rabattksi.
=P
cheers, man

yeah, just trust me on anything that has to do with musicians. everything else is just utter nonsense :)
anyways, them winning 5000 pounds doesn't mean they have a budget of 5000 pounds.
coz in priorities (most of the time) you'll be the last one.
1. new equipment
2. recordings
3. cd-artwork
4. t-shirts
5. touring
6. website

(Apr 15 05, 03:12)That's what I'd do if it was a mates band. It's much less hassle than trying to second guess what they can afford.

...................................i'd agree with this too. ask what they can afford and then tell them what yr prepared to do for that kind of money

Rab is right, . Don't mess around with muscians unless they have $$ and pay you half up front and half when completed. Too many times have I been the one traking people down with baseball bats. And if they did win money, you will be the last to see any of it. Musicians are a pain to work for, especially the little local ones.

bands NEED no maore than a bio, contact/booking, audio clips, maybe a full track or two, photos, and maybe some wallpapers or something fun, maybe if you know how to make a ringtone froma midi file or mp3 for polyphonics
what exactly could you possibly put in 15 pages?
£1000 is a significant amout of change to an unsigned band as rabattski noted
