Thanks for the response.
I honestly didn't know you guys weren't getting paid and I do appreciate the effort that you two did in making a relevant and interesting presentation. By no means was I (as well as my friends who were there) ungrateful for the premise of the presentation, as well as your concerted shift towards something further than showing ones work.
But I guess I expected the remaining time to be spent elaborating on that main subject, I guess emphasizing its potential application to our own work, how you would anticipate it changing the functionality or aesthetics of web navigations, etc. I'll admit though, when you guys provided a discussion period, I should've asked something.
I hope you don't take my words the wrong way. In the last 20 minutes, I appreciated the fact that you showed some of your upcoming work instead of ending the presentation then and there. But I definitely would have preferred hearing a lot more about your own thoughts and concepts, essentially information or opinions I wouldn't pick up through travelling on your company's website.

Thanks moiz; solid yeah I am going to the York/Sheridan program. I will leave it at that without the ebonics.

nvf, you must mean intuition, not initiation...

On another note about Deans pres, I admire that they actually had a significant topic to present, even if it did not fill the entire session. Also will note that Dean didn't show a lot of the same stuff as last year. The Patterson pres as almost the samething he did before.
What I didn't like was how many presenters had no issues or topic to discuss rather than just show their work, while it can be interesting, a good majority of the stuff you can just see online.

true that tom..
and this year i missed having Eric Natzke and Andreas Odendall..
i saw natzke in the conference, but he was just there to attend it.... i asked him why he isnt presenting this yr, he was like "oh i wanted to take the summer off"... fair deal i guess... he does more work than me during the yr for sure
he also said he will soon update his website...
sadly, Flash has reached its peak... and i think in 2 yrs time designers will b focusing on other applications to do this work other than flash...
no wonder they changed their name from Flash In The Can to FITC...
- scarabin0
i can't see any other interactive motion media replacing flash.
there's just nothing around to do it.

maybe processing...
its so much faster... or maybe flash will buy processing or hav a processing ad-on to make the computations faster...
flash is not rapidly growing like it was a few versions back
- NegativeSpace0
No idea if something better is going to come out, who knows only time can tell, but if they continue to make significant improvements it can just keep getting more powerful. Some of the new features I think are a step in the right direction.
- NegativeSpace0
Well processing is raster so naturally it is going to run faster. The improvements in flash that allow vectors to be converted to raster images combined with the developments to the rendering in the flash player are key. Id like to see more of that.

Hey - just wanted to drop a quick line saying thanks to everyone who came out to FITC and especially to those who came to check my presentation ('Glue'-kleber).
Citizen01: thanks for the review - i agree that there's a lot that i could've talked about, but didn't (you only have 1 hour and well... you gotta make some choices, plus i basically improvised on the spot what i was gonna say...).Anyway - i had a great time, FITC was wicked and it was great to see some old faces and meet new ones!
