anyways, i don't trust them to the fullest either.. so i only do transfers up to 200 euros max.
the rest i only strictly do via bank (wire) transfers..
i'd never trust an online service to transactions of significant amounts..
seriously.. try to keep a sane mind about it.

Surely it was the philipini buyer's fault, what are you trying to tell us, ArtDirector?
=============
Here's my experience with paypal, this is from a posting I made 3 months ago:I sold a laptop on ebay for $1800, sent the package to the Philipines, and now the buyer filed a dispute, and paypal took my $1800 back even though my laptop was has shipped already! Wtf!
After that, they held some of my other money in the account on hold because it was under investigation. I had to go out of my way to prove my address, fax over my drivers licence, utility bill among other things.
After I faxed over my documents, I had to call paypal repeatedly and they said they never received a fax and TOLD me to fax again.
I waisted numerous time on hold talking to paypal on the phone disputing with them, and half the time they were in pissy moods as if they get complaints on a regular basis.
So whoever is supportive of paypal, Fuck You.

Hotreport, I get the feeling you work for paypal.
I sold the laptop through ebay, received payment into my account. All of the sudden Paypal retracted the $1800 because the buyer filed a dispute. Apparently the laptop was purchased from a stolen account, and this is my fault???
The money is returned to the person even though it was her fault for giving away her account information, while in the meantime my laptop has already been shipped, and can not be returned.
I don't have time to read all the legal disclaimers, and basically trusted my girlfriend as she handled the entire transaction, but in my book, what paypal did was wrong.
I was robbed, but I was wrong for trusting in a company as well known as paypal.
Again, they also had my account on hold until I had to fax over all the documents they asked for, so I did. I wait another entire week, and they said they haven't received a fax, and TOLD me to send it again......this is my fault Hotreport????
Use your brain once in a while. I can go into further details, but dont have the time or energy. In simple terms, I sold a laptop, the money was placed into my account. I trusted paypal. I had no idea they would take the money back. "Normally" when someone buys something and makes a payment, you send over the merchandise. I had No Idea they would take the money BACK.
I'm partly to blame for being naiive, but lesson learned.
Defend paypal all you want, but they were the least helpful, rude, and the hours spent on hold....

well, i think that's how these scammers/criminals work.. they check all the possibilities within the conditions of payment services to see possibilities to screw you as a seller or even buyer...
i am not defending paypal, it's bad they treated you as such.. on the other hand i also think they get a lot of complaints about this sort of deals gone wrong..
the best thing was to withdraw the money as soon as it came in..
but i wouldn't trust a buyer i don't know that much, especially not from certain countries with 'a reputation'
if you know what i mean.

paypal dumb users are an easy target to spoofers and 'account details' malicious spammers.
so.. ArtDirector.. you were a victim of a fradulent paypal use.
so how to avoid beeing fooled or get caught in the middle? don't use it for christ sake!
e-bank accounts goes the same
- kodap0
I mean, you were caught in the middle..
sorry about that

Btw, if I hack a paypal account and transfer all its funds to a real bank account, would it give me away? Its trackable, right? Is this why paypal hackers buy expensive stuff on the internet instead
- ArtDirector0
Agreed vburo, the top complaint by consumers in the U.S. is online auction frauds.
- ArtDirector0
BTW, sorry about dropping the F bomb right after your posting vburo. Apparently we made the posting around the same time, mine being a few seconds after.
I guess I still have issues losing that money.
