Icons must the easier things to make, equipment wise. It shits me when people try to 'sell' them over the internet. If a clients not buying them, then give em away fer dog's sake.

Do you give your work away for free? (to corporate clients)

I was just asking this isnt like a .....I dont want to pay for it type thing.,...... I just dont have the dough.....the ones that I want are about $259.... I dont have it right now.... I basically need some decent ones that I can use for the time being until I have the money...But they need to be decent enough for version 1
and its not for a client its for a product I am selling.... so to begin with I am not making anything...and I am not giving it away....

hey there are a bunch in there that I can use for now.... but is there a site where I can get the xp pack in png....

Most (if not all) of the icons in those links may be freeware, but they come with a 'Not for commercial use' tag, it would be as if you'd ripped off one of the $259 sets and just as ilegal.
Free does not always mean, 'free use'

You can make a task as complex as you like, but this still just looks like doodling around in photoshop to me.

(Apr 8 05, 03:01)the point of making it in a vector program is being able to scale the icon to 24x24 32x32 48x48 etc with out needing to redo each one from scratch in photoshop your making it more complicated by making it in photoshop if u need more then one size of the icon...usually photoshop is used to clean up the icon not that its needed unless your going for a crisp look....anyway....

search for icons dude, there are about 4 or 5 of these threads. I posted shit in there.

I think though, if you're going to sell icons and similar stuff, you should be targeting people who couldn't do it themselves but then how many internet novices would know what to do them once they've thought to buy them. It's a bad idea.
