i'm far from an expert in flash and i doubt this is possible, but if it is, can someone please let me know! sorry in advance if this is the dumbest question of the day...
i have a SWF file (no FLA file) and it has a music clip in it. is there anyway to change the music to a different clip??

Or .. Dynamically load SWF into another Shell SWF, onLoad stopAllSounds();
and then
get ninja with your timing :s
OR import into new .FLA and dump to timeline, stopAllSounds() and then at least you got some keyframes to help ya.

if you import your swf to a new fla it automaticly will load it without any sounds.
so that could be your faster solution.

fusionpixel, i like your solution of just importing the SWF into a new FLA and then adding my new sound. however, when I import the SWF onto the stage of a new FLA file, i just get a bunch of keyframes that play nothing. am i missing something?

well if you do it that way, as fusion stated, the original file would have had to be created on the main timeline without using any movie clips to contain stuff...i think...wait, it's been a while since i have had to do that, so i probably just made up a bunch of shit : ) sorry

it's a really basic file, but i'm too lazy and flash incompetant to remake it.
there's no video, but when i made the FLA i used some movie clips on the main stage. if it's not too much trouble, perhaps i can email you the file and you can check it out...?

Decompile the SWF, make the FLA new, replace the fonts and shit.
Replace the music...
ReExport in Flash to SWF.
