nice typeface but to me that's just an existing typeface with a certain illustrator effect over it. what is it called "scribble"..
i've experimented with it myself a while ago and got exactly the same results.. should we call this type or graphic expression???

vorm, i think that it's better the way you've done some of them. the first and sixth ones in the second column, for instance, are far more subtle than pea. and if you're going to employ these "graphic expressions" (that's what i would call them) as masks over a typeface, you don't want to be smashing people with cast-iron skillets. that's why i don't much care for pea. it's a little too... bulky.

Thank you for bumping this for me Michael.
The typeface has its genesis from the scribble function in Illustrator - I accidentally made it when working on another project. However, I was unhappy with the automated results, so I redrew all the glyphs by hand(letters, numbers, punctuation, and extended characters).
The typeface was originally intended to be distributed free as an experimental type of thing through a channel like Rick Valicenti's Playground, but I was having diffiuculty getting the points to all work in FontLab (as there are more than is normally alllowed for a typeface), so I asked for help at Veer. They expressed an interest in releasing the typeface commercially, so I thought why not.
It was never meant to be viewed or used small - which is what causes it to clog up and become bulky. When viewed at a large size, it is significantly more interesting. Here is an example - http://www.coreyholms.com/neue/p…

yeah,big its nice!

yeah! that is gorgeous. it's got such a lovely filigreed quality. and when it's magnified to that extent, you can tell that it's been done by hand. fantastic work!

well done i say. good thing you did redraw them as i can imagine some letters would looks messed up if you just unleash the filter on it like that.
i wonder who will use it and what for in the near future..
