i mounted a gas engine to my ipod. i took the muffler off because it sounds so damn cool. i hunt with my ipod using the archery bow and arrow attachment (waiting for someone to come out with a shot gun adapter) i'm also waiting for me chrome blade attachment to come in then i'll be able to cut down trees with it.
my ipod can beat up your ipod.

I think he was referring to the fact that other computer manufacturers offer recycling programs and as far as I know apple doesnt, no need to get all up in arms about it.

for what it's worth.
the linking of a physical product to an electronic product (mp3 sold online through iTunes as opposed to cd's or cassettes transported around the world to be sold through stores etc) has the potential to be more 'eco-effective'.
But the issues of toxicity, embodied energy, poor reverse logistics, resource heritage etc still stand and need to be improved.
Because of the product life-cycle issues (battery replaceability) and particularly strong customer loyalties to the brand, Apple could be really innovative and start producing iPods as a service system as opposed to end-use product. Close the loops and all that.......................
