man, i can't believe how many of you are or recently were PC users! i thought i was the only one enduring the ridicule of my design peers.
i got my powerbook with a gig of RAM and i run tons of apps at the same time, while downloading and it's all smooth sailing.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Jevad... I'm certainly not a gamer so I am making the switch. I just want a solid tool that works well.

Just bought a new powerbook great bit of kit....the only problem is the flash player has much slower framerates compared to the same level spec PC laptop - Is it apple or macromedia being crap or what.
