The PSP is a sweet gadget, not a gaming toy, at least to me, it's like an ipod replacement.

good for you... now...
SHUT UP!
- swollenelbow0
how much mush can you load? as much as a 1GB mem stick?

Funny, I didn't even think they were that similar to warrant any sort of comparing/contrasting. Come to think of it, they play MP3s.... they.... both require electricity.... and people to push buttons... 'n stuff.

oh wow..
silly me, I tottaly thought you can also play games on the psp..

I get it, only 1Gig, 200 songs it's ok for carry on at any time.
Ipods cannot play music videos, or actual video, photos from the DUO card, that's sweet, still love the ipod, there's something incredible attractive about ipods but this deserves a good consideration.

it's great for rubbing one out on the bus eh?

i heard it takes forever to load a game. i'll get one once gran turismo comes out for it.
but it'll never replace my iPod.

god people, get over your ipod insecurities.
the ipod and psp aren't even the same thing.

with all the whistles and bells would the battery even last that long on a PSP?

Battery juice is decent, expect a high charge battery soon, so far I stimated mine at 4 hours, I think the factory time is overreated, but it's still as good, just get an extra pack of batteries.
I usually return stuff after realizing I spent too much money for it, but this handheld gadget is slick, that screen it's awesome, seeing Petey Pablo's video and the Stealth movie preview on a hand held at this quality it's just impressive.
I just wish Sony would come up (even in a year) with the means to record your own UMDs, that would be cool!

psp can't replace ipod because it has lousy volume for music.

PSP and Ipods ARE NOT EVEN THE SAME THING PEOPLE!!!!!

i dunno, until someone makes a good version of Brick for the PSP, I'll stick with the iPod.
?

yeah, not that same thing at all. the psp doesn't have a hard drive, it uses sony's bullshit memory stick which is severely overpriced in comp. to other memory, and the games do load Really slow.
all that being said, it's still pretty cool, and the screen is crystal clear. but yeah, they shouldn't even be compared.
- scarabin0
the games load faster than on a ps2.
wtf are you talking about?
- scarabin0
and the memory sticks are cheaper per meg than every other console memory card...
- 5timuli0
Think I'll start a new thread, Kettle vs. Toaster...
- lvl_130
settle down there scarabin.
the games load slow...and were not talking about ps2. but it seems like they take even longer than they actually do 'cause the loaders don't actually work. irealize this is because these are the first games and this problem will surely be fixed in the future.
as far as memory stick. this is a hand-held device and it's just like sony to use propietary memory. they should have use compact flash or any other portable memory out there. but this is all my opinion so don't take offense to it please. it really doesn't mean shit after all : )

the ipod has an irreplaceable battery that dies on avg of 18 months.
- lvl_130
you can replace the battery in the ipod. it's not cheap though. you can replace it yourself too, but i've heard bad things about doing that yourself from some.
