propably, true. although according to 2005 statistics, windows 98 is still one of the most widely used windows platforms in the world.
if users are still surfing using win98...do you think they have updated plugins?
or, that they won't become infuriated with complete flash sites?
it's easy for me. i'm not a designer.
even within the confines of our own company we have 98 boxes still in use. be it personal laptops of sales associates or older workstations.

I agree- sites completely made in flash are harder than hell to get into search engines.

yes. an xhtml site using bits of flash will still load faster, be more accessible and lighter on the server and the bandwidth.
i can see an obvious direction for a professional site.

Nea has made some good points though I am a fan of XHTML. My only question is, if you are using Flash why the H do you need to make it look XHTML when Flash can anti-alias etc.?
You guys can argue it out on which to use or which not to, but I think it all comes down to the common design principle that there is no one right way for every project.
The proper way to do things is different from one project to the next and who your market is...

Oops, didn't mean to start a debate. I spend 99% of my time building Flash websites for clients. I think it is great for a lot of things. I just hate when flash is used poorly, wrongly or unnecessarily. That's all.
