I'm just seeing if the NT crew has any suggestions for cool / inexpensive hotels in London and/or Paris.
Hey!! Hit me up with any other suggestions for things to see, and people to do you may have for the like-minded Design Savvy set.
Thanks in advance...

can't help you out with hotels so much (iv'e never had to stay in hotels in London cuz my dad lives there!) But for going out, hit up Notting Hill gate/Holland Park area, Notting Hill arts club is great on Wednesday nights.. The westbourne is a lot of fun too. It's also in Notting Hill gate.
Hope thats of some help!

Great, thanks for the help. Anyone else? I'm mostly stymied when it comes to the hotels...

paris hotels:
cool: 'pavillon de paris' -near place clichy.
inexpensive(but v. central): 'hotel du cygne' - near les halles.2 places you must eat -
'chartiere' - 7, boulevard du Montmartre (a paris institution)'le gavroche' - 19 rue Saint-Marc (excellent 'locals only' bistro)
hope that helps..

I was in Paris this weekend, slept at Aux Trois Portes at 44 Bd. Richard Lenoir 75011 (metro: richard lenoir, bastille ou bréguet sabin)... not luxury but quite alright and very central. I paid 33€ pr. night.
Unless it's a business trip, if you're traveling with Eurostar, you can get som good break deals (transport+hotel). I guess you've to be out early though.

Forgot to tell you it's a 2 stars hotel... and about 20 min. walk to Gare Du Nord and 15-20 min. to Notre Dame...

Hey, I saw today that OFR have bought out a travel guide to Paris. If you've got an OFR you can get to it'd be worth picking up.

Just went to both cities in January... I much prefer Paris though.
Anyhow, you should look into the area called "Le Marais" or, the quatrieme (4eme) arrondissement. I'll give details later...must run to class.
