  paris hotels:
  cool: 'pavillon de paris' -near place clichy.
  inexpensive(but v. central): 'hotel du cygne' - near les halles.

  2 places you must eat -
  'chartiere' - 7, boulevard du Montmartre (a paris institution)

  'le gavroche' - 19 rue Saint-Marc (excellent 'locals only' bistro)
