Hey I just finished this site the other day and wanted to get some feedback. I posted the layout not too long ago but now ive got the working site up and running.
My roommate asked for something simple just so he could get some songs online.
Check them out too , he's good.

It's alright, but isn't it just a fancy dir listing? I mean I had no idea what it was at first, and i'd wager most other people wouldn't take the time to figure it out.
Maybe if he had a mean-mug shot somewhere with the word "rapper" ontop :D

yea, and the text loads kinda slow (not flash stuff) and i have DSL. make it maybe a .gif?
You need pictures or something... its too plain
- jevad0
"I need a bitch"
You can tell him I said to fuck right off
- brains0
I beg to differ. I like it the way it is. I guess a nice shot of him on a rooftop at sunset with loads of bottles and beercans around him would be effective.. but not totally necessary.

Yeah it basically is just a slightly dressed up dir listing but that was all he really wanted/needed. He just wants people to be able to click on music, hear it, and download it if they want, as simple as possible.
as for the fuck off comment., i will pass that along to him but try not to take it too seriously. alot of dave's stuff is lighthearted/half joking. besides the irony of that song is that by then end he realizes that is not the right way to treat women and he changes his ways.

also, i probably will throw a photo on there somewhere. maybe something that says "rapper"....maybe not, ive been trying hard to avoid that with this project.
- jevad0
I don't see anything lighthearted about mysoginistic and patricarchal song titles like "I need a bitch"
But the site is v. nice

i got halfway through the first track and wow... what the hell was that shit?
- monNom0
I agree with the promo shot.
also: how about some rottweilers with diamonds in their teeth, and spin rims on a leer jet?
=P

Well, I normally wouldn't recommend pop ups but I think I would rather have the songs play in a pop up so I can go back to the page without it reloading. Also what screen res are you designing for? The lg. text goes of the page at what I think is 1024w(I'm on a 1920x1200 display). It just seems like a mistake. I maybe wrong aboout this so don't mind me. Otherwise it looks tight. How 'bout a rollover state?
As for street creds I would drop the line about growing up in the suburbs of maine and maybe upgrade the casio keyboard...
- Rushmore0
i allow it under the condition that the rottweilers have pimp cups engraved with their names.
Jevad, your comments have led me to start thinking that i should take that song down and put up the "Boxed Wine Street Anthem" in its place....what do you think?
- blackspade0
some o' his beats sound like bad garageband loops
- fate_redux0
Don't take this as hating on the design Rushmore, because it's a fine design if only underwhelming. But that music sucks. He sounds like he's going to cry.
- fate_redux0
Get him to drink some whiskey and smoke a pack a day...and get him to go through puberty. Then he'll sound like a man.
- jevad0
take it down!
- blackspade0
hes called Double X
Gigantically Gigantic
the next BIG thing
he sounds 14 and about 5'3
- kld0
Are those apostrophes or inch marks, or is that just the typeface?

Kld:
ill definately check out the resolution thing, i was under the impression that it fit into 1024 but i could be wrong. ill probably update the pop up situation when i go back to make some changes to the playlist choices.
as for the street cred, i dont think dave is trying to come off as a 50 cent type, hes proud of his Maine heritage, as for the casio keyboard its all part of what makes his stuff unique and fun (i think).they're apostrophe's
blackspade:
you have to see the humor in it(well the attempt at least). i wrote all that text and was just trying to have some fun with it.p.s. i like the photo on your site.
fate:
his voice is one of the first things people who dont like it comment on and all i can say i think is that its part of the charm baby, just part of the whole Double X package. some people like it and some don't.anyways, i know its not for everyone and thats cool.
- fate_redux0
Well that was coming from someone who is listening to a Justin Timberlake song for the past hour, so I'd like to think my tolerance is pretty high.
- kld0
Just playing about the street creds, no biggie(smalls) as long as he's having fun, go with it.
