just looks like a movie clip that is a white box that goes from 0 100 alpha and back. called in each time a new image is selected

do a tween working with the 'advanced' color settings, adjusting the rgb values as necessary.

it looks like it may be using a really saturated version of the image in there too.

On top of my head: play with the "color burn" in photoshop.
Or even simpler:
open up photoshop and create a layer on top of your picture - fill it with a bright color - set the layer to color burn - also, bring up the brightness a bit of your picDo that in steps, and animated a few of those images in a sequence laid out in flash.

the reason the way i mention might work better for you is because you only need to use one image, vs. two.

you're all wrong.
take two same photos... one has a blur w/levels poped up then fade out to clear image...
walla!
