They're not really fake per say. Promos, advance promos....See them as first or second designpitch to clients or coworkers.

the shit i posted is retail as far as i know.
- swollenelbow0
hmm let me give it a whirl, i'm getting it now...
- fullerc0
all these tracks sound fresh. Once some marketing jerk puts them in a pringles commercial I won't be able to listen to them anymore. I can hardley listen to homework anymore for that reason.
- swollenelbow0
what track from homework was used in a commercial?
- fullerc0
my bad, if think a few songs off of Discovery were used in ads.
- swollenelbow0
also nick, this is the one i had before, hmm seems like it's the same loopy dirty stuff i heard before...
when does this come out for real?
- lvl_130
at first i wasn't feeling the new album, but after i listened to it for about a month it has really grown on me. overalll i'd say it pretty damn good.
what this about it being fake though? i got it off here about a month ago by a fellow nt'er. have i been had? is it dif. from the one nick posted?
- ukit0
That's funny...cause I remember when Disovery came out there was a whole album of fake tracks that were being shared on Napster etc. All the same track titles, but completely different songs.

i just took it down.
its been out for roughly a month, so i think its prolly the same one lvl_13

ah, word. thanks for the heads up.
- ukit0
I hope it is fake, cause the one I heard, sounded almost like a parody of Daft Punk, with very little effort of creativity behind it. But unfortunately, I have a feeling it isn't.
- swollenelbow0
i still find myself singing to the redundant track, "television rules the nation"
i really hope this isn't the final thing...
the name of the song is the only lyric in each of these?!? WTF?
- ********0
many times ive tried to convince myself that a pre-release i've received is in fact just a practical joke by the band on the pirates...
but in the end its always the real thing.

Sounds like the feeling is universal then. I also couldn't shake the impression, while listening to this, that they are targeting the 30-second commercial with these songs instead of the DJ or the home user. They have probably figured out that is where they make more $$ lol
- lvl_130
i don't know. like i said, the more i listen to it the more i like it.
but can see the whole commercial aspect you guys are talking about fro sure. hmmm.... maybe my taste in music is going down : /
i still like the album though : )

SHITE

... is playing in my house, and all the furniture is in the garage..
ooh oooh yeah!

Its sounds unfinished. The ideas behind the tracks are good, but its just too damn repediative. Maybe if they built the tracks a bit more, striped parts out and brought them back in or something. You've heard the entirity of each track after listening to the first 10 seconds of each song.
All in all, worst daft punk ever.
