I am having trouble restarting my powebook. I restarted but then it just stays at the grey screen with the apple and the dial thing underneath.
I don't have to systems disc with me, I was wondering if there is any thing I can do to restart my computer?
thanks

i have decided that people who experience problems with powerbooks need them taken away, if you can't take care of it properly, you don't deserve it

hey shut your faggot face. I do take care of my powerbook. Shit happens so get the fuck out of here. Asswipe

my pb has been a slow starter scince the last osX update. Both in start and restart...
I was told that Disc Utility was worth a try but it dident work for me...
Still slow :(

poor piperboy all that hostility, i wonder if his anger and violence has been taken out on his defenseless poerbook?
might be part of the problem right there

regarding the slow startup / restart, i've read that repairing permissions before and after installing the update should take care of it. no idea since i haven't updated to the lastest version yet.

btw cloned that's some dumb posts there.

piper, have you tried os x safe boot (press shift during startup)?

Using Disk Utility and fsck for file system maintenance in Mac OS X:
- rasko40
then get cocktail and clean up yer system
- bentzen0
try Diskwarrior. worked for me... not a powerbook but had the same problem on my g4.

========================dumb or not its how i feel about it. and, strange how i need a group beating not even a direct threat from him. he needs people to fix his problems and to fight his battles for him
people make mistakes, not computers.
something he did caused the problem, not us

Time your restart (you shouldn't really need to restart too often), then go to your Disk Utility and Enable Journaling. Restart two times...your startups will be faster after the second restart.

well then don't answer cloned, it's that simple.
anyways, "... he needs people to fix his problems and to fight his battles for him" so you know him personally and basically all his questions are basically just that? or is this a generalization for all people asking solutions? like no one can have problems?
unfortunately this is not reality: "people make mistakes, not computers."
and what the hell: "something he did caused the problem, not us" wtf? where does he blames us?
you're weird dude.
