i am flying to vail tomorrow, and i wanted ask you some question about backbowls. which line is the best one to take?last time we were there, backbowl wasn't open yet.

yeah, i tried to email then bounced back. my buddy and i will be there till sunday afternoon.
i am looking for trees and steep, open... anywhere where we can get fresh tracks.
last time, we were hitting dueuces wild, wildcard, the woods...
man, i am sooooo pumped!

Yeah...fresh tracks will be tough - snowed a few inches last night and maybe some tonight though.
Are you gonna be riding saturday too...man you need to give me more notice!
Ok...if you're looking for fresh I would suggest Blue Sky Basin. At teh top get off the lift and go right, but keep left. There is a gladed run there called Champagne Glades. It's a beauty but a bit of a horror when it get's chopped up - mind the tree wells!
Another option is to come off the lift and go left - then ride down the hill keeping to teh right of the lift you jsut took. Keep straight and floow the cornice ledge to your left. Eventually you will hit a run called Heavy Metal. This is a mellower gladed/open run than Champagne Glades...and there is *always* good stuff in the trees. I love to pop in and out riding down there.
Maybe we can meet up saturday? My friend and I were going to go ride backcountry at Loveland Pass but Vail would be cool too...

blue sky is super nice... off the top, if you head on the left side of the mtn you'll hit some nice tree runs. powder even when it's been dry for a couple days.i think my legs are STILL dead from riding the runs jevad took me on... damn locals

It's not easy coming up to the level Vail is at from sea level and then trying to keep up with people who ride it every weekend - you did bloody well!!

yeah, we should meet up saturday if you can. we got no plans. we are staying right on mountain side, oh yeah, i am gonna really enjoy that!

aint that the truth... when my buddies come to town i have to make AT LEAST 3 stops for their virgin legs when doing Peak to Creek... i guess the 4500 feet of vertical we kill in that run is a bit much for them.

i've been ridin' copper all winter...that is until last week when i blew out my back...
snow has been great this year...much better than last year.
copper has the G games this weekend, so hopefully that will take some of the crowds from vail.
dunno what this had to do with your thread, but i'd thought i'd through it in there anyway...hehe
