_smk. I know of a company that despite tenders from say five production companies each time for over 15 years the same production house gets all the work and people did research on this and something like 87% of all tenders have been won bythis company. People say the directors children are being put through school by backhanders from the production house. How embarassing is that *&% of all your stuff goes through this one company now how the hell are you supposed to develop and get fresh new ideas and quality of work.

++++++++++++++++++++Is tha cos they're scottish?

There is plenty of creative companies up here, but at the end of the day everyone has similar clients. Scottish work does look very 'samey' and 9 times out of 10 its easy to distinguish which company ha done what.
Each years its always the same old companies winning the same awards, from a shit magazine such as The Drum.

ha ha yep. I go to the Ad. awards most years and just sit back and get pissed and watch work that in my opinion could have been so much better winning the prizes. I am talking TV here and you have to admit the scottish ad. scene is tame at best.
- derm0
what about the likes of the leith agency and newhaven, some nice work there.
- patnoodle0
Who did the latest P&O ads on the telly - they're fantastic!
I fookin think not!
- _smk0
The Drum sucks cock. Truely, I've seen it...
Many a time I have laughed out loud at the fucking site/work reviews in there. Always by marketing guys, always without a single scooby as to what they're talking about - I wonder how damaging that can be to a company, having some fanny slate their work in the shitiest Industry rag in the world...
And yes - it has happened to me :-)
- chossy0
not sure if I like any of the stuff which stayed in Scotland do you have any examples you could tell me of that were soley done in Scotland?.
